Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in bakery management or related retail supervisory role

Job Duties

  • Champion corporate and division customer service programs to meet or exceed customer service goals
  • Plan, organize and direct day-to-day operations of the Bakery Department
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with product quality, code date standards, sanitation, safety and security
  • Oversee bakery duties including proofing, baking, decorating, slicing and packaging
  • Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays and prevent shrink
  • Order, check, receive and control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality and freshness
  • Maintain bakery department cooler and freezer and conduct periodic inventories
  • Ensure bakery product quality, baking and decorating standards are met
  • Ensure proper merchandising of products including schematics and retail labeling compliance
  • Comply with health and food safety standards and company policies
  • Assist customers with special orders and suggestive selling
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment and retail cases
  • Handle customer relations and engage in sales techniques
  • Monitor daily logs, purchase reports and sales and labor reports
  • Attend required training and sales meetings
  • Implement emergency procedures for equipment and software malfunctions
  • Supervise, motivate, train and participate in hiring bakery personnel
  • Monitor associate performance and recommend personnel actions
  • Schedule personnel to ensure adequate coverage
  • Communicate sales goals and department performance to staff
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Resolve associate complaints and report serious policy violations
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls and resolve customer complaints
  • Perform all duties with honesty and integrity
