Job Requirements

Must be 18 years of age
Must be able to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift and stock up to 50 pounds
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
Ability to follow health and safety guidelines
Must have reliable transportation
Willingness to work as part of a team
Ability to accept part-time position if required

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous baking or food preparation experience is an asset
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to follow recipes and production procedures accurately
Good customer service and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to operate bakery equipment safely
Basic math skills for weighing and scaling ingredients
Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area

Job Duties

Mixing, weighing, proofing, baking, frying, decorating, finishing and merchandising quality bakery products using Bashas' recipes
Loading and unloading the oven, knowing the proper temperatures and duration to bake all varieties of product
Scaling cakes and cupcakes, icing sweet rolls, breads and cookies
Assisting in the ordering and receiving of bakery products and supplies
Controlling product inventory and out of stocks, shrink and supplies
Using scale printer machine, ensuring weights and pricing are correct
Understanding the importance and monitoring of product pricing, signage, and placement as well as the use of product shelf tags and shelf signage
Keeping a clean, neat and orderly bench, production area, storage area, and walk-in coolers and freezers
Helping in the wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery department products, rotating them as necessary to ensure quality and safety
Displaying goods following bakery department and/or merchandising guidelines
Helping decorators with personalization of cakes and icing of cakes, donuts, sweet rolls and similar items
Performing all other related duties as assigned
