Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and stock items up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Must comply with health and safety standards
- Experience in cash handling and register operation
- Current endorsement from a leader for internal candidates
- Approval from HR for rehire candidates
Job Qualifications
- Experience in pastry production or baking
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity in developing new recipes and menu ideas
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow health department regulations
- Experience working in a team-oriented kitchen environment
Job Duties
- Responsible for production, ordering, merchandising, achieving goals on sales and profits, controlling inventory and out of stocks, sanitation, shrink, supplies, equipment, and safety
- Assist with menu planning and development including creativity and experimentation with new trends and menu ideas and recipes to create AJ's exclusive pastries and expand the offerings in our Boulangeries
- Ensure compliance with health department and weights and measures requirements
- Maintain open communication with all members of the kitchen and department manager
- Work with the Catering Director and Executive Chef on menu planning and facilitating the production of catering menus to ensure profitability, variety and AJ's quality standards
- Maintain a high degree of cleanliness throughout preparation area
- Correctly operate a cash register including proper cash handling and all forms of tender per company policy
