Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and stock items up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Must comply with health and safety standards
  • Experience in cash handling and register operation
  • Current endorsement from a leader for internal candidates
  • Approval from HR for rehire candidates

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in pastry production or baking
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Creativity in developing new recipes and menu ideas
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow health department regulations
  • Experience working in a team-oriented kitchen environment

Job Duties

  • Responsible for production, ordering, merchandising, achieving goals on sales and profits, controlling inventory and out of stocks, sanitation, shrink, supplies, equipment, and safety
  • Assist with menu planning and development including creativity and experimentation with new trends and menu ideas and recipes to create AJ's exclusive pastries and expand the offerings in our Boulangeries
  • Ensure compliance with health department and weights and measures requirements
  • Maintain open communication with all members of the kitchen and department manager
  • Work with the Catering Director and Executive Chef on menu planning and facilitating the production of catering menus to ensure profitability, variety and AJ's quality standards
  • Maintain a high degree of cleanliness throughout preparation area
  • Correctly operate a cash register including proper cash handling and all forms of tender per company policy
