The Pastry Chef role at AJ's plays a crucial part in supporting the prepared foods department. This position requires physical stamina to manage extended periods of standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and other activities typical in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties
- Responsible for production, ordering, merchandising, achieving goals on sales and profits, controlling inventory and out of stocks, sanitation, shrink, supplies, equipment, and safety
- Assist with menu planning and development including creativity and experimentation with new trends and menu ideas and recipes to create AJ's exclusive pastries and expand the offerings in our Boulangeries
- Ensure compliance with health department and weights and measures requirements
- Maintain open communication with all members of the kitchen and department manager
- Work with the Catering Director and Executive Chef on menu planning and facilitating the production of catering menus to ensure profitability, variety and AJ's quality standards
- Maintain a high degree of cleanliness throughout preparation area
- Correctly operate a cash register including proper cash handling and all forms of tender per company policy
