Job Description
RHA Health Services is a reputable organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as those facing mental health and substance use challenges. Operating in multiple states including North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and New Jersey, RHA has a rich history of more than 30 years focused on creating environments that are safe, healthy, and foster personal growth for the people they serve. Their commitment centers around placing the individuals they support at the core of their mission, which has helped the organization become a leader in providing compassionate, person-centered care and support services. The culture at RHA is positive, supportive, and mission-driven, encouraging team members to make meaningful contributions to the community they serve. RHA Health Services is currently hiring an Independent Contractor to fill the role of 1099 Interior Residential Painter within their Facilities & Fleet Department. This role is essential in maintaining and enhancing the living environments for individuals supported by the organization, contributing directly to the overall quality of life for residents.
The 1099 Interior Residential Painter is responsible for performing interior painting and surface-finishing across multiple residential homes and facilities managed by RHA. Operating as an independent contractor, the role offers a competitive pay structure and flexible scheduling to accommodate work-life balance. The contractor will be providing high-quality painting services focused on interior spaces such as bedrooms, common areas, kitchens, trim, and other finishes. A unique aspect of this position is its focus on interior maintenance without exterior painting, sales, bidding, or customer collections, allowing the painter to concentrate fully on delivering craftsmanship within occupied homes while minimizing disruption. This position requires travel to various RHA locations within an approximate 90-minute radius from Fayetteville, with a transportation allowance provided to support these duties.
Additionally, the painter will collaborate closely with Facilities leadership to assess project needs, recommend appropriate materials (with all materials provided by RHA), and ensure work is done efficiently and safely. Key responsibilities include surface preparation like cleaning, sanding, patching, conducting minor drywall repairs, and performing light carpentry related to painting projects. Safety compliance is crucial, with limitations such as ladder use restricted to heights of no more than 8 feet and strict adherence to fall prevention measures. The painter must maintain quality standards suitable for healthcare and residential environments while managing multiple projects independently. This role also requires the use of personal tools, vehicle, and general liability insurance, emphasizing the contractor's professionalism and ability to deliver dependable and expert service.
Working at RHA offers a rewarding opportunity to combine skilled trades with a mission-driven environment. This position allows painters to contribute to improving the appearance and safety of homes for vulnerable populations, making a tangible difference in their lives. RHA values attention to detail, quality workmanship, and professionalism, and in return offers various employee benefits (for qualifying full-time employees), including early wage access, employee discounts, paid time off, health insurance, retirement savings plans, wellbeing programs, chronic disease management, and free training opportunities. The organization provides a supportive work environment committed to equal employment opportunity and reasonable accommodation. For professionals seeking a stable yet flexible position with purpose, this role with RHA Health Services represents an excellent fit where skilled painting meets impactful community service.
