This hybrid position is integral to the success of the hotel's sales department, blending proactive business development with essential sales coordination duties. The role requires a professional capable of driving new business growth focused primarily on business transient travel while also managing various administrative and operational sales support functions. Approximately 70-80% of the time will be devoted to generating sales and business development activities, with the remaining 20-30% dedicated to sales coordination responsibilities.\n\nKey tasks include developing and executing strategic sales plans that increase business transient revenue and expanding the hotel's market share within Lubbock’s business travel segment. The role involves outside sales activities such as prospecting, networking, cold calling, telemarketing, and meeting with clients for site inspections and relationship building. The Business Travel Sales Manager is expected to manage RFP submissions, negotiate corporate rate agreements, and thoroughly research market trends to capitalize on new revenue opportunities. Additionally, this position requires managing corporate accounts, fostering long-term client relationships, monitoring account performance, and ensuring exceptional customer service.\n\nOn the sales coordination side, daily activities include managing inquiries, processing group business reservations, supporting partnerships specifically with Texas Tech University, coordinating guest amenities, and maintaining sales documentation. Collaboration with the Director of Sales & Marketing, Revenue Management, and hotel leadership is essential for aligning sales efforts with overall revenue goals. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless communication concerning negotiated accounts, VIP clients, and customer satisfaction. This role also involves regular reporting, forecasting, and performance reviews to track progress against goals and support business strategy development.\n\nThis position offers a vibrant work environment that combines office-based tasks with opportunities for local travel to meet with clients and attend community networking events. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 2-5 years hotel sales experience preferred
- Proven ability to build relationships and grow revenue
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with sales platforms preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Self-motivated
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, marketing, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2-5 years of hotel sales experience with business travel, transient sales, or sales coordination experience preferred
- Proven ability to build relationships and generate revenue growth
- Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and customer service skills
- Experience with Delphi.fdc, Thynk, Cvent, Lanyon, Microsoft Office, or similar sales platforms preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for outside sales activities
Job Duties
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to increase business transient revenue and market share for Cotton Court Hotel
- Generate new business through prospecting, networking, cold calling, telemarketing, and community involvement
- Conduct outside sales calls, site inspections, and client meetings to establish and strengthen corporate relationships
- Identify and pursue opportunities within key Lubbock market segments including Texas Tech University travel and partnerships, healthcare and medical travel, corporate and local business accounts, sports and university-related travel, training programs and regional business travel
- Manage RFP submissions and negotiate preferred corporate rate agreements
- Research market trends and competitive activity to identify revenue opportunities
- Represent Cotton Court Hotel at networking events, trade shows, community organizations, and industry functions
