The role of the Housekeeping Attendant is critical in maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of all indoor and outdoor hotel areas. This position demands a hardworking individual who can perform physically demanding tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning guest restrooms, lobby areas, hallways, and other public spaces. The housekeeping attendant also takes care of back-of-house areas such as employee restrooms and break rooms. Beyond regular cleaning duties, this position requires responding promptly to guest requests, helping with special assignments, managing supplies, and reporting any safety or maintenance issues. Employee responsibilities extend to ensuring the hotel environment remains fresh-smelling, debris-free, and visually inviting. The role demands physical stamina for standing, crouching, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to specified weight limits. Working outdoors is also part of the job with exposure to varying weather conditions and controlled chemical use.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- physical ability to stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, finger, push, pull, lift and carry up to 30-100 lbs
- able to work all interior and exterior hotel areas including exposure to weather conditions and controlled chemicals
- willingness to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
- strong communication skills
- good organizational skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred but not necessary
- excellent guest service skills

Job Duties
- Clean and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel lobby, hallways, public restrooms, and public areas of the hotel
- deep cleaning of assigned areas including shampooing rooms and public areas, window washing, hotel light fixtures, and elevators including tracks
- clean and maintain back of house areas including employee break room, employee bathrooms, and service elevator including tracks
- deliver housekeeping items to guests upon request
- get special assignments or projects at the beginning of each shift
- check and replenish supplies and cleaning tools
- quickly respond to guest requests in a timely manner
- return lost items found in guest areas to supervisor or manager with proper labeling
- ensure front desk check-in area is clean and meets cleanliness standards
- keep guest corridors free of debris and safety hazards
- respond to guest questions and report guest issues to supervisor or manager
- respond promptly to requests from other departments
- ensure trash and recycled paper is picked up each shift
- report maintenance and safety issues to front desk or manager on duty
- empty and check trash containers and ashtrays
- ensure terrace, courtyard, and front drive areas are clean and free of debris
- ensure the hotel smells fresh
- assist food and beverage staff with disposing abandoned glasses and bottles
- assist front office staff with lighting candles
- clean and maintain public and employee restrooms and stock necessary items
- report maintenance or safety issues immediately to supervisor or manager
