Job Description
The hiring establishment is a well-regarded retail grocery company known for its commitment to quality products and customer satisfaction. This company specializes in providing fresh, authentic, and diverse food options to its customers. Among its popular departments is the Tortilleria, a specialty section that produces freshly made tortillas, tostada shells, duros, tortilla chips, and masa. The company prides itself on a strong dedication to food safety, quality control, and fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for both customers and employees. With a vibrant community presence and opportunities for employee growth, this company seeks passionate and dependable individuals who want to contribute to its success story by ensuring its Tortilleria department runs smoothly and efficiently.
The role of Tortilleria Specialist is an essential position within the company’s Tortilleria department. This full-time role involves operating and maintaining tortilla manufacturing equipment such as tortilla making machines, mixers, conveyor belts, and fryers. The specialist is responsible for producing a variety of tortilla products and snacks, including flour and corn tortillas, tortilla chips, duros, and masa in volumes sufficient for customer demands. This role requires a hands-on, safety-conscious individual who is capable of working in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer service. Beyond production, the Tortilleria Specialist also oversees the packaging and merchandising of finished products on store shelves and display units, maintaining neat, organized workspaces, and ensuring all food safety and member safety guidelines are strictly observed.
The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who appreciates the importance of quality in food preparation, enjoys interacting with customers, and understands the significance of maintaining production equipment. Physical stamina is important, as the role involves standing for extended periods, lifting weights up to 50 pounds, pushing equipment, and performing various manual tasks. The company offers competitive compensation paid weekly, comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement for qualified courses, and scholarship opportunities for continued education. Additionally, employees enjoy store discount programs and a positive work environment where they can actively participate in supporting their community through their work.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, or 21 if serving alcohol is involved, and internal candidates need endorsement from their current leader or HR approval for rehire. This role offers a great opportunity for individuals looking to join a company that values food excellence, employee development, and customer satisfaction within the specialty food sector.
