The Wine Cellar Team Lead role at AJ's Fine Foods is an exciting leadership position designed for individuals who have a passion for wines, beer, and liquors and a keen interest in managing a well-stocked, attractive wine cellar. The position requires close attention to detail with responsibilities including ordering, pricing, and stocking a variety of products such as wine, beer, liquor, and cigars. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be 21 years of age to serve alcohol
  • Ability to safely stand, lift up to 50 lbs, bend, walk and perform other physical demands associated with the role
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Positive and friendly attitude
  • Ability to work well with team members and customers
  • For internal transfer, current leader endorsement is required
  • HR approval for rehire candidates

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in wine, beer or liquor retail or service environment
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of state liquor laws and regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Maintaining a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and fellow team members
  • Engaging with customers through smiles and greetings, offering product information, providing selling suggestions and active sampling (when appropriate), and always giving a genuine thank you
  • Planning and hosting tastings and special functions
  • Providing customers with great information and suggestions concerning their purchase of wine cellar product offerings
  • Monitoring and using correct product pricing, shelf tags and signage
  • Keeping clean, attractive and beautifully stocked wine cellars
  • Ordering, pricing and stocking all products in the wine cellar including wine, beer, liquor and cigars
  • Ensuring compliance with all state liquor laws, and health department and weights and measures guidelines
  • Performing all other related duties as assigned
