The Pastry Chef role at AJ's is a pivotal position within the prepared foods department, working closely with the Executive Chef to drive sales, enhance customer satisfaction, and contribute to the overall success of the culinary operations. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- must be 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol
- ability to stand for extended periods
- capability to lift and stock items up to 50 lbs
- ability to push, keyboard, use telephone, walk and bend
- previous relevant experience in a similar role
- willingness to work flexible shifts

- Experience in baking and pastry production

Job Duties
- Responsible for production, ordering, merchandising, achieving goals on sales and profits, controlling inventory and out of stocks, sanitation, shrink, supplies, equipment, and safety
- assist with menu planning and development including creativity and experimentation with new trends and menu ideas and recipes to create AJ's exclusive pastries and expand the offerings in our Boulangeries
- ensure compliance with health department and weights and measures requirements
- maintain open communication with all members of the kitchen and department manager
- work with the Catering Director and Executive Chef on menu planning and facilitating the production of catering menus to ensure profitability, variety and AJ's quality standards
- maintain a high degree of cleanliness throughout preparation area
- must be able to correctly operate a cash register including proper cash handling and all forms of tender per company policy, e.g. cash, checks, credit cards ATM
- all other related duties as assigned
