Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food service or grocery environment helpful
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and stock up to 50 lbs
  • Basic math and cash handling skills
  • Ability to operate scale printer machines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must comply with health and safety standards
  • Must be punctual and dependable
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Job Duties

  • Directing bakery department personnel, meeting department’s goals and objectives
  • Managing bakery when the bakery manager is not on duty
  • Communicating directly with the bakery manager, store director and bakery specialist
  • Ordering supplies and products necessary to maintain stock levels
  • Merchandising bakery goods according to merchandising standards
  • Observing all store rules and company policies and directing team members accordingly
  • Executing and supporting sales and merchandising initiatives
  • Serving as leader, role model, coach, performance evaluator and trainer for the team
  • Ensuring compliance with health department and weights and measures requirements
  • Maintaining positive and friendly attitude towards customers and team members
  • Engaging with customers through greetings, product information, selling and sampling
  • Providing fast and friendly customer service
  • Processing cash register transactions, checks, EBTs, and refunds
  • Using scale printer machine and ensuring correct weights and prices
  • Monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement
  • Keeping work areas clean and orderly
  • Wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery products
  • Taking and completing customer orders on time and to satisfaction
  • Performing all other related duties as assigned
