The Gourmet Chef will assist in the preparation, display, and merchandising of all bistro foods for sale, including freshly prepared and packaged items. This position requires a chef with a strong passion for cooking and creativity to develop, prepare, and present outstanding meals available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as for catered functions. This is a fast-paced role requiring excellent organizational skills, positive customer engagement, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will work closely with the deli/bistro team lead and executive chef to meet department goals related to sales, product quality, presentation, and customer service. Additionally, the Gourmet Chef will participate in menu planning, ensuring the use of fresh ingredients and innovative culinary techniques that enhance the customer dining experience while maintaining company standards for profitability and compliance.

Responsibilities include handling special orders and catering events, engaging customers with helpful product information and excellent service, and maintaining open communication across various departments to support smooth operations. The Gourmet Chef must also ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations including local and state laws, as well as manage food cost controls effectively to reduce waste and increase efficiency. Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years of age

  • must be 21 years of age for positions serving alcohol
  • internal transfer candidates require leader endorsement
  • rehiring requires HRBP approval

Job Qualifications

  • relevant culinary education or equivalent experience
  • experience working in a fast-paced kitchen or food service environment
  • strong knowledge of food preparation and safety standards
  • excellent communication and customer service skills
  • ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • experience in menu planning and event catering is a plus
  • demonstrated creativity and passion for food preparation

Job Duties

  • assist in preparation display and merchandising of bistro foods
  • work with deli/bistro team lead and executive chef to achieve sales and quality goals
