Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift and stock items up to 50 pounds
- Basic math skills for scaling and measuring ingredients
- Willingness to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Must be approved for internal transfers, promotions, or rehires by HR if applicable
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a bakery or similar food production environment preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to operate bakery equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Mixing, weighing, proofing, baking, frying, decorating, finishing and merchandising quality bakery products using Bashas’ recipes
- Loading and unloading the oven, knowing proper temperatures and durations to bake all varieties of product
- Scaling cakes and cupcakes, ice sweet rolls, breads and cookies
- Assisting in ordering and receiving bakery products and supplies
- Controlling product inventory and out of stocks, shrink and supplies
- Using scale printer machine, ensuring weights and pricing are correct
- Understanding and monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement, including product shelf tags and shelf signage
- Keeping clean, neat, and orderly bench, production area, storage area, and walk-in coolers and freezers
- Helping in wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery products, rotating them to ensure quality and safety
- Displaying goods following bakery department and merchandising guidelines
- Helping decorators with personalization and icing of cakes, donuts, sweet rolls
- Performing all other related duties as assigned
