The State of North Dakota, headquartered in Bismarck, serves as the governing body for the state. It coordinates the delivery of public services to its approximately 750,000 residents.

Executive Branch

Meetings take place in the west chamber of the 19-story Capitol building in Bismarck.
Judicial Branch
The Judicial Branch ensures fair and impartial application of laws and includes the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, District Courts, and Municipal Courts.
The Supreme Court is the highest court, with five justices elected for ten-year terms. District Courts serve as courts of general jurisdiction for criminal and civil cases.
