The Canaries have a rich history in Sioux Falls, with professional baseball in the city dating back to 1902. Over the years, the team has undergone several name changes, including "Sioux Falls Fighting Pheasants" from 2010 to 2012, before returning to the original name in 2013.

Stadium Upgrades
Sioux Falls Stadium has undergone several renovations to improve the fan experience. A $5.6 million upgrade in the late 1990s added luxury suites, a 3,000-square-foot home clubhouse, and a video wall/scoreboard featuring live and recorded video clips.
In 2021, a $1 million scoreboard was installed, further enhancing the stadium's appeal and modernizing the venue for fans.
