The Pappas family legacy began in 1897 when H.D. Pappas emigrated from Greece to America, opening restaurants throughout Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas. The first Pappas restaurant, Dot Coffee Shop, was established in 1967 on the Gulf Freeway in south Houston.
