Café Benelux is a vibrant Grand Café located in Milwaukee's historic Third Ward. It draws inspiration from the cultures of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Established in 2011, it has become a beloved destination for locals and visitors seeking an authentic European dining experience.
The café offers a diverse menu featuring from-scratch dishes highlighting regional favorites such as mussels and frites. In addition, it serves innovative sandwiches and entrées. Their award-winning brunch is a weekend highlight, complemented by a world-class bier program.
The bier program boasts an extensive selection of Belgian and craft brews, including exclusive offerings from the Lowlands Brewing Collaborative. Café Benelux is one of only nine U.S. establishments to serve all four Chimay Trappist biers on tap.
The café's ambiance is enhanced by an expansive rooftop patio, providing diners with panoramic views of Milwaukee's skyline. This space is popular during the warmer months and offers a unique setting for casual meals and special events.
Renovations and Improvements
In early 2024, Café Benelux underwent significant renovation to elevate the guest experience. Updates included a reimagined bar area with expanded seating and additional booths.
Among the new booths is a VIP booth designed for larger groups. The renovation also introduced larger television screens and refreshed food and beverage menus, bringing in new dishes and exclusive tap towers like the Duvel tower and a three-tap Chimay tower—the first of their kind in Wisconsin.

- Monday through Thursday: 7 am to 10 pm
- Friday: 7 am to 11 pm
- Saturday: brunch 7 am to 2 pm, main menu 2 pm to 11 pm
- Sunday: brunch 7 am to 2 pm, main menu 2 pm to 10 pm
In addition to Milwaukee's flagship, Café Benelux also has a spot within the Milwaukee Public Market. This venue offers a similar menu and ambiance, providing patrons an alternative setting.
