Position: Youth Empowerment Steward (YES) – Springfield Armory National Historic Park AmeriCorps Service Member
About: The YES (Youth Empowerment Stewards) Program at Springfield Armory National Historic Park is seeking an AmeriCorps Service Member to work on increasing access to the outdoors for individuals with disabilities. The program focuses on community engagement, partnerships, and outreach initiatives to promote stewardship and inclusivity in park events and activities.
Requirements: Attend bi-weekly YES cohort meetings (online via Teams meetings) to collaborate with other YES members, attend professional development presentations, and give a capstone presentation on your YES AmeriCorps Service Member project(s); To Be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident; To be between the ages of 21-30, or a Veteran up to the age of 35; Have a personal connection with the disability community; Ability and license to drive a vehicle; Ability to communicate and collaborate in a variety of settings; Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team; Basic computer and social media skills; Drive to learn and experience new things
