Position: Senior Specialist, GPS LA/South Events
About: Nike, a well-known global sports and athletic company, is seeking an Event Lead to oversee virtual, hybrid, and live event experiences in their LA/South Key City locations.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training; Minimum of 3+ years directly relevant work experience; Prefer 5 years of experience in a high-profile operations role related to events/venue management across multiple sites; Demonstrated experience leading strategic partners, agencies, and supplier management, ideally at a Fortune 500 company; Effective communicator at all levels with proven ability to influence and drive people and projects; Demonstrated ability to assign and manage internal and external resources effectively across multiple projects; Detail-oriented with strong organizational, multitasking, and budget management skills; A team player with proven experience in leading, coaching, driving, and inspiring (extended) teams across multiple locations aiming for shared success; Ability to effectively manage time and individually prioritize tasks of competing priorities; Demonstrated analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities and ability to present and influence those capabilities across all levels of the organization through strong verbal and written skills; Firm command of leading meetings and prioritizing agendas across multiple business partners; Fluent in MS Office applications, familiarity with Smartsheet a plus; Expertise managing large budgets, forecasting, and charge-backs; Expert using event tools such as CVENT, Ungerboek, and/or Planned; Excellent understanding of the Event industry and its trends; Desire to obtain a strong brand awareness and knowledge of the business to be a steward of progress; Provide timely and accurate data reporting, budgeting, expense reports, event summaries, measurables, and business reports; Qualified to hold an international passport and driver’s license; Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds; Must be willing and able to work irregular hours and schedules as needed; up to 25% travel is expected.
