Position: Regional Manager, DTW Flight Kitchen
About: The On-Board Service (OBS) team is seeking a talented and proven business leader with operational experience to function in the role of Regional Manager of Detroit’s Flight Kitchen (DTW). DTW is the 3rd largest Kitchen in Delta’s network, with a peak of 230 flights daily. The successful candidate will own and drive all aspects of the Detroit (DTW) Flight Kitchen Catering Operations, dispatch performance, and own all OBS related activity within Delta’s hub -DTW. Additionally, the Regional Manager will oversee daily operational performance, manage specification and product changes, conduct flight attendant engagement within the hub, maintain cross functional department relationships, and represent OBS in DTW. The Regional Manager – Detroit Flight Kitchen will also provide direction and guidance to a diverse team that supports a growing and dynamic catering operation.
Requirements: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, business disciplines, Industrial Engineering or similar (highly preferred) or equivalent relevant experience; should have demonstrated leadership experience, strong communication skills, and background/interest in operations; must have project management experience and analytic skills; must have previous operational experience; should display an interest in transformational change, leadership growth, and a track record of servant leadership and ability to influence without authority; must be a strong team player, detail-oriented, and perform well under pressure; must convey a professional image with an ability to lead, manage, and communicate to all levels of associates in a team environment; must be able to effectively communicate and manage changes relevant to the integrity of the operation; if transferring internally, must be performing satisfactorily in current position; consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data; embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles; possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency; is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
