Position: Pastry Cook (PM)- Vast Fine Dining Downtown OKC
About: The Pastry Cook position at an undisclosed establishment involves ensuring the preparation of various plated desserts, chocolates, confections, frozen desserts, glazes, pies, cakes, and other bakery items up to high presentation standards and established recipes. This role is responsible for handling the set-up and breakdown of the kitchen station by adhering to health and safety standards and sanitation practices.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; diploma in Culinary, Confectionery, Pastry, or any equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in all functions of the bakery; excellent technical knowledge (equipment, tempering of chocolate, sauce work, bread baking, dough lamination, specialty cakes); must be comfortable working quickly and efficiently; proficient in strong organization skills and incredibly detail-oriented; exceptional understanding of Food Safety; ability to work under pressure and manage high-profile projects; ability to multitask and prioritize tasks based on outlet requirements; artistic and creative ability with a vision to create high-end products; strong people skills including verbal and written communication; ability to work without supervision and remain focused; ability to adapt to change and new situations; ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees; may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or overtime
