About: The Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine (GCCM) is seeking a Kitchen Manager, Operations to provide organizational and kitchen support. The role involves working closely with the Director of Operations and Assistant Program Director to ensure the achievement of the center’s mission and goals. Responsibilities include orientating, training, overseeing, and delegating tasks to interns, volunteers, residents, and students. The Kitchen Manager will also support culinary medicine classes for various audiences and manage kitchen production, operational tasks, and sanitation standards. This position is in charge of food and kitchen supply purchasing, inventory, and safe storage for the Center.

Requirements: Associate Degree and one (1) year of culinary or professional kitchen experience; or High School Diploma/equivalent and two (2) years of related work experience. Capable of meeting physical demands like lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching, and bending. Able to be on feet, standing, and active for most of the day. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, multitasking ability, and adaptability to changing environments. Knowledge of food product purchasing, inventory, and storage procedures. Experience in cost control and food vendor relations. Bachelor’s Degree is a plus. ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification, knowledge of HACCP and Louisiana Food Codes, and a passion for nutrition, cooking, and community improvement are desirable qualities.
