Position: Executive Director of Virginia Zoological Park
About: The Virginia Zoo, located in Norfolk, Virginia, is a cultural and educational institution home to over 700 animals representing 150 species. Founded in 1901, the Virginia Zoo is committed to wildlife conservation, education, and animal welfare. It operates as a hybrid organization involving the Virginia Zoological Park (VZP) and the Virginia Zoological Society (VZS) staff working together in various aspects such as animal care, grounds maintenance, educational programs, and fundraising.
Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology, Biology, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a senior leadership role within a zoo, museum, aquarium, or similar organization, including at least seven (7) years of supervisory experience; advanced degrees (MBA, MPA, etc.) and certifications in zoo management or non-profit leadership are preferred
