Position: Event Manager job
About: The University of Utah is seeking an Event Manager to oversee front of house operations during various events, performances, and ceremonies at Kingsbury Hall and for UtahPresents. The position involves house management, safety, and emergency preparedness, managing usher programs, event planning, and providing direct patron assistance. Reporting to the Operations Director, the Event Manager assists in fielding rental inquiries for Kingsbury Hall and plans assigned events.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field plus one year directly related experience; ability to work independently, analyze program content, prioritize deadlines, and demonstrate strong coordination and organizational skills; human relations and effective communication skills; 2 or more years of experience as a supervisor in a mid-to-large sized event venue or multi-plex movie theatre; volunteer supervision experience; background in Box Office operations including ticketing systems; knowledge of Information Technology trends; proficiency in Spanish language; First Aid/AED certification
