Position: Event Coordinator job

About: Formed in 1952, The Austin Humane Society is Austin’s largest, longest standing, no-kill, non-profit animal shelter dedicated to eliminating unnecessary euthanasia of dogs and cats through innovative life-saving adoption programs, high-volume spay and neuter programs, engaging the community, and serving animals and people in times of crisis. The Events Coordinator will be responsible for Austin Humane Society’s event-based programming, representing and coordinating third-party events to engage the community in AHS’s mission and work, reporting to the Director of Individual Giving and Corporate Relations within the Development and Communications Team.

Requirements: Minimum one year of experience in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, or a related field; commitment to the mission and values of AHS; energetic self-starter; excellent organizational and communication skills; attention to detail; ability to make telephone calls and track daily activities; work collaboratively in a team environment; handle complex and confidential information; advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office suite and GoogleSuite; technical knowledge of Zoom and digital meeting platforms; valid driver’s license; comfortable driving a transport vehicle with live animals; bachelor’s degree preferred.
