Position: Coordinator, Special Events
About: The University of Houston-System’s University Advancement department is seeking a Coordinator, Special Events to manage and execute events supporting fundraising, alumni engagement, and community partnerships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for event planning, coordination with stakeholders, vendor management, and ensuring smooth event logistics.
Requirements: Associate’s degree; Experience in coordinating activities and events; Knowledge of event logistics planning (vendors, budgeting, etc.); Knowledge of campus programs and university procurement policies and procedures; Knowledge of special event protocols and best practices; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canva, Qualtrics, and familiarity with design programs; Experience with A/V handling, digital/virtual environment coordination; Excellent written and oral communication; Ability to be organized and focused on task nuances; Workflow awareness to support team members; Problem-solving skills based on sound judgment
