Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 2 years cooking experience or equivalent combination of culinary education and experience
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • superior kitchen and knife skills
  • flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • comfortable bending, lifting, and standing for an 8-hour kitchen shift

Job Duties

  • Understand and avoid food temperature danger zone
  • know what to do during a health inspection
  • perform work station sanitation properly
  • recognize ingredients for all recipes
  • follow recipes and meet time and quality standards for finished products
  • have basic kitchen and knife skills
  • use par sheets correctly
  • re-stock key products before they run out
  • know and follow proper rotation, dating and food storage procedures
  • follow proper food loss and samples procedures
  • demonstrate knowledge of basic cooking techniques
  • write and organize task list correctly
  • complete assigned tasks on time or communicate need for help to production manager or supervisor
