Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years cooking experience or an equivalent combination of culinary education and experience
- Ability to work full-time including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift during lengthy kitchen shifts
- Strong commitment to food safety and kitchen sanitation
- Willingness to learn and follow detailed recipes and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Two years of cooking experience or equivalent culinary education and experience
- Strong kitchen and knife skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of food safety practices and basic cooking techniques
Job Duties
- Prepare large quantities of case salads, hot soups, and traditional Jewish deli items from scratch
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work stations and kitchen area
- Follow recipes accurately to meet quality and timing standards
- Monitor food temperature and safety to avoid food danger zones
- Restock key ingredients and products promptly to maintain kitchen flow
- Utilize proper rotation, dating, and storage procedures for all food items
- Manage food costs responsibly by minimizing waste and using ingredients efficiently
