Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years cooking experience or an equivalent combination of culinary education and experience
  • Ability to work full-time including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift during lengthy kitchen shifts
  • Strong commitment to food safety and kitchen sanitation
  • Willingness to learn and follow detailed recipes and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of cooking experience or equivalent culinary education and experience
  • Strong kitchen and knife skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare large quantities of case salads, hot soups, and traditional Jewish deli items from scratch
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work stations and kitchen area
  • Follow recipes accurately to meet quality and timing standards
  • Monitor food temperature and safety to avoid food danger zones
  • Restock key ingredients and products promptly to maintain kitchen flow
  • Utilize proper rotation, dating, and storage procedures for all food items
  • Manage food costs responsibly by minimizing waste and using ingredients efficiently
