Job Description

Meadowbrook is a well-established company that has been serving its community since 1932. Founded by Fred Weir Sr., the company began as a restaurant with a mission that went beyond just food service. Fred Weir Sr. envisioned creating a sanctuary where people and families could escape the daily troubles of the world and enjoy a place filled with warmth, belonging, and hope. Over the decades, Meadowbrook has upheld this foundational vision by providing not only excellent dining experiences but also fostering a welcoming atmosphere that makes every guest feel valued and appreciated. The company’s commitment to community and quality has been the cornerstone of its long-standing success in the restaurant industry.

Meadowbrook is currently hiring for the position of a Cashier at its Zaxbys location. This role is essential in maintaining the exceptional customer service standards that Meadowbrook prides itself on. As a Zaxbys Cashier, individuals will be the first point of contact for guests as they enter the restaurant. The cashier will extend warm greetings, provide detailed explanations of the menu items, and answer any questions guests may have, enhancing the dining experience from the moment of arrival. Accuracy in taking orders and handling payments is crucial to the position, requiring familiarity with the POS system and proper cash handling techniques.

The role involves not only transactional tasks but also customer engagement, such as suggesting additional menu items to increase sales and ensuring that all orders are presented accurately and with proper accompaniments. Cashiers are also responsible for various operational tasks including prepping drinks, assisting with food preparation, stocking supplies such as paper goods and condiments, and maintaining cleanliness in guest areas. Additionally, the Cashier must communicate effectively with management regarding the need for equipment maintenance or inventory replenishment to ensure smooth daily operations.

This position requires physical stamina as duties may involve walking, standing, or sitting for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. It also encourages good communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Prospective candidates must be at least 16 years old to apply and need to complete an in-store training program to be successful in this role. Employment is part-time, offering work of approximately 10-25 hours per week, with compensation ranging from $8.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.

Working as a Cashier at Meadowbrook’s Zaxbys location offers a unique opportunity to be part of a historic company that values community connection and excellent service. It is an ideal role for individuals who enjoy interacting with people, are detail-oriented, and want to contribute to creating a positive experience for every guest. By joining Meadowbrook, employees become part of a tradition that goes beyond the typical workplace, emphasizing the importance of belonging and hope in everyday interactions. This job is not only about managing transactions but about being an integral part of an inviting atmosphere that has delighted customers for nearly a century.
