Job Description

FIFA26 is at the forefront of organizing one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world, the FIFA World Cup 26™. This forthcoming tournament is historic as it marks the first time the World Cup will feature 48 teams, an expansion aimed at increasing global participation and visibility. Unique in its hosting, the event will span three countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. These unprecedented changes redefine what excellence means on the international stage, creating a dynamic platform for athletes and fans alike to engage with the sport at an unparalleled scale. The organization is committed to delivering an extraordinary, seamless, and unforgettable experience that resonates globally and brings communities together through the love of soccer.

Within this vibrant and fast-paced environment, the role of Youth Program Coordinator - Match Day Only is crucial. This fixed-term contract position is based in Houston, where the selected candidate will work onsite to support venue operations during match days. Reporting directly to the local Venue Operations Director, the role demands a blend of operational efficiency, proactive problem-solving, and excellent coordination across various stakeholders. The Youth Program Coordinator acts as a vital link in the chain of operations, ensuring that activities related to youth programs are seamlessly integrated into the broader event logistics and that the programs run flawlessly in alignment with FIFA’s standards.

The responsibilities span the execution of operational and logistical plans customized to tournament venues and locations. Being present on-site during the FIFA World Cup matches, the coordinator will oversee the implementation of youth programs, tackle real-time issues, and guarantee smooth delivery. Handling task management across functional areas is essential, requiring close collaboration with venue teams, contractors, and local authorities to maintain adherence to FIFA’s stringent compliance and local regulations. This position also serves as the primary contact for day-to-day operational matters within assigned zones, providing an essential communication bridge among teams throughout the USA, Canada, and Mexico to align on deliverables and timelines.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to accountability, exemplified through responsible decision making, inclusivity, and leadership qualities. The ability to innovate and take initiative is highly valued, especially when navigating the complexities of large-scale international events. Experience in similar environments, particularly involving operational coordination and project management under pressure, is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and planning software, plus fluency in English, are required, while additional languages like Spanish and French are beneficial.

Working with FIFA26 means engaging in a role that challenges conventional boundaries and offers the opportunity to contribute to a world-renowned event affecting millions. The role promises a unique professional experience enriched by the diverse cultural backdrop of the North American host countries and the chance to be part of an event that will be remembered for generations.
