Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in receptionist or customer service roles preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to interact positively with diverse populations
  • Must complete CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse prevention training within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be available for Monday through Friday shifts either full-time 7:00 am-4:00 pm or part-time 4:00 pm-6:00 pm

Job Qualifications

  • Display YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
  • Previous receptionist, administrative assistant, customer service or related experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to relate to diverse groups from all social and economic backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • CPR and First Aid certification and Child Abuse prevention training to be completed within 90 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Greet each participant, making them feel welcome
  • Learn and use participant names
  • Build relationships with participants and help connect parents with the YMCA
  • Route phone calls to appropriate extensions
  • Assure the security of the facility by verifying access and authorized individuals
  • Ensure enrollment, payment, and refund information is communicated to the Site Director
  • Provide clerical support to childcare center management and staff
  • Assist with childcare duties to maintain adult/child ratios when needed
