Job Requirements
- Be currently enrolled as an OCCC student with minimum credit hours as specified
- have basic computer skills including familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office
- demonstrate efficient typing and communication skills
- possess excellent customer service and positive working relationship capabilities
- be able to perform sedentary work and physical activities involving occasional lifting and frequent movement
- commit to adherence to safety procedures and policies
- be willing to complete all required training and participate in safety drills
Job Qualifications
- Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for Fall or Spring semester or 3 credit hours for Summer semester
- basic computer skills including Windows and Microsoft Office
- efficient typing skills
- strong written and oral communication skills
- excellent customer service skills
- positive work relation skills
- preferred 2 years of customer service experience
Job Duties
- Maintain a professional workstation suitable for a college environment
- sign students in and out of the Writing Center using client tracking software
- perform clerical duties such as answering phones, operating Excel for data entry, and sending/replying to emails
- provide excellent customer service with genuine care, attention to detail, job knowledge, and problem-solving
- maintain a running list of students waiting for tutoring and assign tutors
- promote tutoring services during each visit
- assist faculty and students in using computers and learning materials
- assist with maintenance of student records for the Writing Center
- provide basic troubleshooting and cleaning for Writing Center computers
- perform other duties as needed
- abide by Board of Regents policies and college procedures
- contribute to a safe educational and working environment
- adhere to safety and health procedures to prevent injury
- complete required quarterly safety training
- participate in emergency drills and assist others as necessary
