We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Wine and Beer Associate to join our team. This role is critical in creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. The ideal candidate will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while maintaining all established quality assurance standards. This position demands someone who embraces our Customer 1st strategy, encouraging associates to consistently deliver excellent customer service. The Wine and Beer Associate will provide expert guidance to customers on a variety of wines and beers, including information about flavor profiles, production methods, and pairing recommendations with foods such as meats, cheeses, and desserts.

Additionally, the role involves promoting a safe and clean environment that encourages repeat business, fostering trust and respect among associates, and collaborating with other staff members such as the store chef to organize wine tastings and other promotional events. The associate must also maintain proper storage temperatures, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and report any safety risks or illegal activities. Since the role is customer-facing, excellent communication skills, effective handling of stressful situations, and a fundamental knowledge of math for sales transactions are essential. The position requires candidates to have a high school diploma or equivalent and to be at least 21 years of age. A passion for wine and beer, along with experience in retail and product knowledge, is highly desirable.
