Our company is a leading retailer that prides itself on delivering exceptional customer experiences through outstanding service and product knowledge. We are known for offering a wide variety of specialty wines and beers, catering to customers who appreciate both imported and domestic varieties. Our organization emphasizes a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where customers can enjoy shopping and feel valued. We strongly embrace diversity, inclusion, and the core values of respect, honesty, integrity, and safety. As an employer, we focus on fostering a culture where associates are encouraged to deliver excellent customer service and contribute meaningfully toward achieving sales and profit goals.

We are currently seeking a Wine and Beer Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in establishing an inviting atmosphere for our customers and ensuring their satisfaction through expert product knowledge and personalized recommendations. The Wine and Beer Specialist will assist the department manager in striving for department sales and profit targets, monitor quality assurance standards, and support safety initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to work in a retail environment with a focus on specialty beverages and interact with customers to enhance their shopping experiences.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with wine and beer, possess knowledge of industry trends and flavor profiles, and demonstrate effective communication skills. A solid understanding of basic math and the ability to handle stressful situations are essential. Additionally, proficiency in a second language is highly desirable, as it helps in connecting with a diverse customer base. Employees must be at least 21 years old and pass a wine test once employed.

In this role, you will promote trust and respect among associates, creating an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated. You will respond to questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store, offer samples consistent with company guidelines and legal requirements, and inform customers about wine specials and pairing suggestions. Collaborating with the store chef on wine tastings and other programs will also be part of your responsibilities.

Maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, performing preventive maintenance on equipment, and adhering to safety programs are critical to this position. You will be responsible for reporting any safety risks, accidents, or illegal activities, exemplifying the companys commitment to a secure and respectful workplace. This role requires the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation, ensuring inclusivity and fairness in employment practices.
