This role is centered on creating an outstanding customer experience by delivering exceptional service and maintaining a clean, safe environment that encourages repeat visits. As a vital member of the department team, you will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards. Embracing the Customer 1st strategy, you will lead by example and encourage fellow associates to uphold the highest standards of customer service. Your responsibilities include promoting trust and respect among associates and creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers by answering questions about products and assisting with selections. A specialized knowledge of imported and domestic wines and beers is essential, including familiarity with flavor profiles, industry trends, and pairing recommendations with food items like meat, cheese, and desserts.

Additionally, this position requires collaboration with store chefs for wine tastings and promotional programs, monitoring case and cooler temperatures to maintain quality, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures. You will also play a key role in maintaining preventive maintenance standards by inspecting equipment and reporting needs for repairs or any safety risks. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to handle stressful situations, and knowledge of basic math and beverage industry regulations. Details such as passing the wine test after employment and being at least 21 years of age are mandatory.
