The position currently open at The Setai is a full-time, non-management role designed to support the wine and sake team, particularly assisting with the bottle service for tables and maintaining the cellar and storage stock. The role is essential in ensuring seamless beverage service by supporting the sommeliers with prompt and attentive assistance during service hours. This includes managing inventory, restocking glasses and wine tools, and coordinating with the head sommelier to maintain optimal stock levels and organization. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in beverage service or hospitality preferred
- Knowledge of wine and sake varieties preferred
- Ability to work full time
- Ability to follow instructions and procedural guidelines
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with restocking and inventory
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a similar beverage service or hospitality role preferred
- Knowledge of wine and sake varieties and service techniques advantageous
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and courtesy under pressure
Job Duties
- Provide friendly, courteous and efficient service to all guests with making eye contact, smiling and maintaining proper posture
- Keep sommelier station stocked with wine, sake, premium wine glasses and wine tools necessary for each service
- Get bottles of wine/sake to sommeliers for tables having wine/sake service in a timely manner
- Restock cellar when needed before, during, and end of service
- Restock bars at the beginning and end of dinner service
- Put away new wines in storage and notify Head Sommelier when items are 86ed and/or low
- Maintain stock in proper order as to procedural guidelines set forth by Head Sommelier
- Work as a member of the beverage team and interact with service team in a positive manner
- Assist Head Sommelier with maintaining stock in designated wine areas
- Work with Head Sommelier to facilitate inventory weekly
- Assist beverage receiver allocating wine and sake deliveries to appropriate storage areas
- Support Head Sommelier preparing wine orders on a daily/weekly basis
- Follow proper time and attendance and uniform procedures
