Job Requirements
- Education in hospitality management or related field preferred
- minimum 3 years experience in wine program management or sommelier role
- ability to lead and motivate a team
- strong customer service skills
- effective communication abilities
- ability to manage inventory and financial reporting
- knowledge of local health and safety laws
- must be of legal age to serve alcohol
- certification or ability to obtain responsible alcohol service certification
- flexible availability including weekends and holidays
- proficiency in restaurant management software
- excellent organizational and leadership abilities
Job Qualifications
- Must have the ability to read, speak, understand, follow written directions, and verbal instructions in English
- communicates information effectively and efficiently
- excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- possesses a positive, results-oriented, team-player mentality
- ability to perform job duties well and maintain professionalism under pressure
- knowledge of workplace safety procedures and local Department of Health standards
- food handler's certification or ability to obtain
- able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
- familiarity with restaurant management software including POS and inventory management
- working understanding of human resource principles and supervisory skills
- excellent time management and communication skills
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- certification for responsible alcohol service or ability to obtain within 6 months
- WSET Level 3 or CMS Sommelier certification preferred
- degree in Hospitality or Culinary Management preferred
Job Duties
- Promotes the core values and culture of COTE including excellence in food and beverage, service, and hospitality
- liaises between the front of house and culinary teams during service
- provides and oversees service for VIP customers
- develops positive customer relationships and addresses customer service needs
- ensures all wines are stored, presented, and served to the required standards
- recommends wines to customers based on price, taste, and food selection
- oversees daily restaurant administration including payroll, opening and closing duties, and service floor plans
