The role of Wine and Spirits Cashier at Festival Foods is an exciting opportunity for candidates who enjoy retail customer service or have experience in bartending and are passionate about sharing their knowledge with others. This part-time position places you in the heart of the store’s wine and spirits department, where you will assist customers in discovering new and exciting products, from local craft beers to premium wines and unique specialty spirits. You will work closely with the department manager and team members to maintain smooth department operations, ensuring shelves are well-stocked, prices are accurate, and the department is welcoming and organized. As a Wine and Spirits Cashier, you will be responsible for engaging with guests in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, helping them select the perfect beverage pairings for various occasions.
Your duties will also include handling cash register operations with accuracy and professionalism, maintaining cleanliness and safety within your work area, and collaborating effectively with vendors, managers, and colleagues to meet and exceed department goals. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- must be at least 21 years of age
- previous customer service experience preferred
- ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- good communication skills
- knowledge of safety procedures and equipment
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- must be at least 21 years of age in order to sample products sold in the wine and spirits department
- ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers
- good oral and written communication skills
- thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
- must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
- proper training and knowledge of hand jack baler forklift pallet jack trash compactor proper lifting techniques and proper scanning techniques
Job Duties
- be a product guide help guests find what they are looking for offer recommendations and take special orders
- deliver great service answer questions resolve concerns and ensure every guest leaves feeling supported
- support the team work alongside associates and leadership to meet department goals and maintain high standards
- keep things running maintain inventory levels ensure accurate pricing and keep shelves stocked and organized
- operate the register check out purchases with accuracy and a smile
- ensure cleanliness help maintain a clean safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members
- communicate and collaborate work with vendors managers and fellow associates to exceed expectations
- honor commitments regular timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
- support the team other duties as assigned
