Job Description
N.E.W. Community Clinic (NEWCC) is a respected nonprofit healthcare provider located in Green Bay, dedicated to serving individuals and families regardless of their ability to pay. The clinic offers a wide range of services including medical, dental, behavioral health, WIC (Women, Infants & Children), and community outreach. Since its inception, NEWCC has committed itself to providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare that respects the dignity and well-being of every person it serves. The organization operates multiple clinics dedicated to different areas of care, including three dental clinics, two medical clinics, one WIC location, and two behavioral health clinics. This diverse healthcare delivery system ensures comprehensive patient care tailored to the unique needs of the community it supports.
WIC is a vital community program that focuses on helping families build healthy futures by offering nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthy foods, and essential connections to healthcare and other community resources. The WIC program specifically serves pregnant individuals, new parents, infants, and young children, playing a crucial role in improving the overall health outcomes of the community.
The role of a WIC Medical Receptionist at NEWCC is integral to maintaining the welcoming and supportive environment the clinic is known for. As the first point of contact, receptionists serve as the welcoming face and steady voice that sets a compassionate and respectful tone for every patient interaction. This full-time position (36+ hours per week) requires an experienced, empathetic individual who can thrive in a fast-paced healthcare setting that values inclusivity, cultural diversity, and community care. The receptionist will handle various clerical and administrative tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of the WIC program, including scheduling appointments, managing client information, and supporting nutritionists and clerks through translation and communication assistance.
Beyond routine administrative responsibilities, the Medical Receptionist is expected to participate actively in breastfeeding promotion, attend relevant staff and state WIC meetings, and engage in community outreach events. The receptionist also plays a key role in distributing eWIC benefits, determining income qualifications according to federal regulations, referring clients to social services, and ensuring compliance with program guidelines. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a nonprofit healthcare setting that embraces cultural diversity and provides essential support to underserved populations. Employees at NEWCC not only contribute to improving access to healthcare but also gain the fulfillment of making a meaningful impact every day within a collaborative, supportive team environment.
