Job Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain current food handlers and OLCC/WA liquor license
  • previous bartending or related experience
  • ability to accurately handle cash and work with numbers
  • excellent customer service and communication skills
  • ability to respond to alarm calls and answer pub related phone calls promptly
  • availability to work minimum 35 hours per week including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • ability to lift and carry heavy objects safely
  • ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • ability to work in varied weather conditions
  • ability to work with sharp objects and chemicals
  • ability to perform repetitive physical tasks
  • must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service for guests as well as effective shift management
  • safely lift and carry heavy objects with a hand truck or the help of another person if necessary
  • manage others in a positive and professional manner
  • handle complaints in a professional and positive manner
  • work long periods on feet including frequent walking, stair climbing and working outdoors in varied weather conditions
  • perform repetitive movements such as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and stooping
  • manipulate small and large objects including computer keyboard usage, writing, chopping and using kitchen equipment
  • communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, managers, vendors, and customers
  • work around various heat sources including grills, broilers, and hot-oil fryers
  • work with sharp objects including knives and slicers
  • work with cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
  • perform opening and closing duties of the pub
  • assign work sections to servers
  • serve guests and tables including taking food and beverage orders, delivering products, collecting payment, and cashiering
  • work on a point of sale computer system
  • set-up, maintain, and breakdown service and work areas
  • regulate labor and oversee side work
  • supervise and train staff
  • perform administrative duties such as scheduling, payroll and ordering
  • respond to alarm calls and telephone queries
  • act as host and oversee general pub operations
  • troubleshoot and solve problems during shifts
  • fill in for head manager when absent
