Job Description
Westin Boston Waterfront is a premier hotel located in the vibrant Seaport District of Boston, Massachusetts. Known for its stunning architecture featuring a vertical garden that naturally purifies the air, this hotel blends modern luxury with environmental consciousness. Guests enjoy close proximity to major cultural and exhibition venues such as the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston Convention Exhibitors Center, and Boston Children's Museum. Within the hotel, visitors find well-appointed guestrooms equipped with flat-screen TVs, Starbucks coffee makers, and luxurious bathrobes. The on-site Sauciety restaurant offers a satisfying buffet breakfast to start the day, contributing to a memorable stay for every guest.
The Westin Boston Waterfront is currently seeking a dedicated Food & Beverage Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards of hospitality the hotel is known for. As a Food & Beverage Manager, you will be a central figure in creating an exceptional dining experience, overseeing operations from the lounge to banquet events. This position is an overtime eligible manager role (OEM), meaning overtime is applicable and compensated accordingly. Your responsibilities will blend leadership with hands-on management, ensuring everyone from guests to staff enjoys a seamless experience.
In this fast-paced, rewarding career, the Food & Beverage Manager acts as the 'Captain of Hospitality,' setting the tone for friendly and efficient service, training the team to uphold high standards, and maintaining smooth operations each shift. Compliance and safety are critical components, and you will enforce grooming, safety protocols, and certifications such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid to meet regulatory and company standards.
Administrative expertise is also essential, as you will be responsible for payroll, scheduling, reporting, and tracking staff productivity. Maintaining food quality and overseeing creative promotions will ensure the restaurant and bar remain attractive and competitive. This managerial position requires strong communication skills and problem-solving capabilities to address guest concerns quickly and effectively, guaranteeing satisfaction at all touchpoints.
Candidates should bring at least five years of progressive experience in hospitality or hold a relevant college degree paired with experience. Proficiency in Windows operating systems, spreadsheets, and word processing is important, along with strong financial and arithmetic skills. Preferred candidates have supervisory experience and demonstrate excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. The ability to stay composed under pressure is essential to this role.
After an initial waiting period, full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, disability income insurance, life and AD&D insurance, paid time off, an employee assistance program, and a 401k retirement plan. The hotel also offers a unique daily pay option for employees, emphasizing their commitment to staff welfare and satisfaction.
This role represents an exciting opportunity for hospitality professionals eager to grow their careers in a renowned hotel with an exceptional location and a culture dedicated to excellence and sustainability. If you thrive in active environments and enjoy the challenge of orchestrating quality food and beverage service with a team-oriented approach, the Westin Boston Waterfront invites you to apply and be part of their leadership team.
