As a Shift Leader, you will take charge of key operational tasks including opening and closing the restaurant, managing cash handling and security protocols, supervising team members, coaching and developing employees, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and workplace standards. You will play a vital role in sustaining high service standards through monitoring speed, cleanliness, accuracy, and friendliness among team members. In addition, you will assist with food ordering, scheduling, inventory control, and internal assessments to meet company and health department expectations.
This position requires a hands-on leader who is ready to step in and assist with daily operations, including covering workstations, resolving customer issues professionally, managing team conflict, and driving operational success. Moreover, the Shift Leader will be expected to effectively communicate with management and team members, maintain workplace conduct policies, and promptly report any inappropriate behavior or violations.
The physical demands of the job are representative of restaurant work and include activities such as standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance, bending, carrying, writing, and handling cleaning chemicals. The work environment may expose the individual to heat, wet surfaces, and burn hazards while operating both indoors and outdoors. Travel to nearby store locations for meetings or coverage may occasionally be required.

Job Duties

- oversee restaurant opening and closing procedures, including security protocols and cash handling
- assist with food ordering, scheduling, and maintaining inventory levels
- monitor and ensure compliance with walk-throughs and company critical checklist
- conduct internal self-assessments using company tools and ensure compliance with health department and food safety audits
- cover workstations and assist during breaks as needed
- ensure compliance with company timekeeping policies and report any concerns
- ensure high levels of customer service by achieving company standards for friendliness, accuracy, cleanliness, speed, and taste
- resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner using company customer service processes
