The Wellness Associate I role is a vital part of the Y’s wellness department, serving as the frontline ambassador for fitness and health program participants. This position centers on delivering excellent customer service to all members, program participants, and guests within the wellness area. The Wellness Associate ensures every visitor feels welcomed and informed by warmly greeting them, scheduling appointments, and answering inquiries related to services and programs. A critical aspect of the role includes maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the wellness floor, fostering an environment conducive to healthy living and active participation. The Wellness Associate also plays a proactive role in promoting YMCA memberships, offerings, and special promotions, contributing to community engagement and organizational growth. Job Requirements
- must be at least 16 years of age and/or junior in high school
- have one year or more of customer service or public relations experience preferred
- demonstrate a passion and basic understanding of healthy living and helping others reach goals
- actively participate in a healthy lifestyle
- be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to multi-task
- work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced environment
- possess enthusiasm and excellent customer service skills
- enjoy working with people and have a friendly and outgoing personality
- have excellent communication, listening and computer skills
- complete CPR/First Aid, Blood Bourne Pathogen and Child Abuse Prevention training within first 30 days of employment

Job Duties
- enforcing YMCA and wellness department rules and policies
- maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked and well organized work area
- give facility tours and orientations to new or prospective members as needed
- actively promote the Y, memberships, programs, services, and lessons, as well as promotions and/or discounts available
- provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by members/guests
- provide detailed descriptions of Y memberships, programs, services, facility features and hours of operation
- properly open, perform daily tasks and close wellness area each day according to standard operating procedures
