The role of Concierge Service at Advocate Health Center 11624 Aurora Sinai Medical Center is a full-time position designed for an individual passionate about providing excellent first and last impressions for patients and visitors of the hospital. Working 40 hours per week during the first shift, this role is essential in creating a welcoming, efficient, and safe environment. The concierge will proactively engage with guests, offering responsive and friendly customer service, ensuring that all visitors and patients feel valued and supported from the moment they arrive until they leave. This role involves answering telephones, coordinating communications between various hospital departments and external organizations, and proficiently using the Epic system to manage appointments, patient information, and transportation requests.
A key component of the Concierge Service role involves physical assistance, including helping patients and visitors to and from vehicles, managing wheelchair transport, and escorting individuals within the facility. The concierge also plays a critical role in maintaining smooth traffic flow at facility entrances and may be called upon to perform symptom screenings on patients and visitors to uphold health and safety protocols. The position demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask under pressure, and a commitment to teamwork. Candidates typically require a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of two years’ experience in a customer service-facing role, and intermediate computer skills, with prior experience using Epic software considered a plus.

Job Duties
- Successfully manage the first and last impressions of the facility
- proactively approach, greet and acknowledge all in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive guest service
- answer telephone and make calls to department, units and outside organizations as requested
- successfully utilize the Epic system for appointment and patient look-up, input of transport requests
- properly communicate with all departments and transport companies on behalf of patients/visitors
- partner with all hospital staff
- problem-solve, manage conflict, address patient/visitor concerns and complaints, and initiate recovery steps for service failures
- assist in maintaining a smooth traffic flow at the entrances to the facility
- physically assist in the transport of patients/visitors through wheelchair use and escorting - both external and internal
- physically assist patients in/out of vehicles
- when required, provide symptom screening of patients/visitors entering the facility by asking structured health questions
