Job Requirements
- high school degree and/or G.E.D. certificate
- six months experience as a certified nurse assistant in health care in homes or facilities
- successful completion of a state approved certified nurse assistant course
- successful completion of a competency evaluation meeting state licensing law for home health agencies
- sympathetic attitude toward caring for the sick and ability to handle job demands
- current CPR certificate is recommended
- meets requirements for employees providing direct patient care
- read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
- have a valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile or access to adequate transportation
Job Qualifications
- high school degree or GED certificate
- six months experience as a certified nursing assistant in healthcare settings
- successful completion of a state-approved certified nursing assistant course
- competency evaluation as required by state licensing laws
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- current CPR certificate recommended
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to follow instructions and work independently
Job Duties
- assist clients with personal hygiene including toileting, bathing, and grooming
- help clients with ambulation, eating, dressing, and light housekeeping
- perform assigned patient care tasks such as ostomy appliance changes and dressing reinforcement
- assist with the use of mobility aids like canes, walkers, and wheelchairs
- take vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure
- support clients with prescribed exercises and simple urine tests
- prepare special diets and measure intake and output
