Job Requirements

Minimum of high school diploma or GED
minimum 3 years experience in law enforcement and/or security serving educational, hospital or government entities
able to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, balance, talk and hear
able to occasionally climb stairs and ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste or smell
able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
able to operate related and outdoor equipment and necessary tools
specific vision abilities including frequent reading and close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Job Qualifications

Basic understanding of Variety's mission, values, programs and services, and strategic plan
understanding of legal criteria for issues such as confidentiality, child abuse, and mandated reporter requirements
ability to provide nonviolent intervention with high ethical standards, cultural sensitivity, and within appropriate boundaries
strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by courteous, cordial, cooperative, and professional interaction with diverse groups
adherence to all Variety and departmental policies and procedures
responsible and trustworthy
attend all Variety in-services as required
strong verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with individuals and groups
