This position focuses on providing excellent customer service while preparing coffee shop beverages and food items efficiently and according to company standards. The role involves operating the cash register to handle payments promptly and courteously, ensuring that every customer interaction reflects SpartanNash’s commitment to quality and service excellence.\n\nAs a Coffee Shop Assistant, the individual will be responsible for brewing, mixing, and blending beverages to meet established quality standards while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The position requires attentiveness to food safety practices and sanitation guidelines, proper stock rotation of coffee items and merchandise, and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of store programs and product placements. Familiarity with check-stand equipment and coffee shop machinery is important to ensure smooth operations throughout the shift. Communication with department leadership regarding inventory needs is vital, alongside compliance with company policies on security, cash handling, and product management.\n\nThe role also demands engagement with customers by promoting the company’s loyalty programs, explaining current in-store specials, and upholding excellent service standards to enhance the customer experience. Attention to safety protocols, food safety requirements, and guest experience guidelines is essential. The Coffee Shop Assistant may occasionally be assigned tasks in other departments to support overall store operations based on customer demand and business needs.
