Job Description
This job opportunity is based in Albany, NY and is ideal for highly skilled professionals specializing in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) products, particularly IBM WebSphere technologies. The role involves onsite work from day one with a clear emphasis on integrity, as candidates must provide a completed I9 form for verification and should have genuine experience as outlined in the requirements. The duration of the position is expected to be 12 to 24 months with a high possibility of extensions, indicating the company's preference for long-term engagement and stability for their team members.
The hiring company appears to focus on advanced enterprise solutions involving a robust SOA infrastructure. Their infrastructure includes IBM WebSphere Application Server versions 8.5.5 and 9.0.5.x, IBM WebSphere Business Process Manager, IBM WebSphere Business Automation Workflow, IBM HTTP Server versions 8.x and 9.x, and IBM Power and AIX servers, among other related technologies. The company values expertise in architecting, designing, installing, supporting, configuring, and problem determination within these environments.
The role's responsibilities are extensive and encompass multiple domains of SOA infrastructure management and performance tuning. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in architecting and supporting these IBM SOA products, including their installation and configuration. Additional duties involve maintaining high availability and virtualization strategies for IBM AIX and WebSphere products, conducting performance testing, tuning, and capacity planning of SOA infrastructure, as well as troubleshooting and providing root cause analysis across development, test, performance, staging, and production environments.
In addition to SOA products, the role also requires managing IBM HTTP Servers, Apache servers, and monitoring products such as Manage Engine Applications Manager to ensure optimal performance and uptime. The position demands familiarity with performance monitoring tools and utilities like nmon, topas, netstat, vmstat, iostat, and sar to assist with critical performance tuning and troubleshooting efforts.
A vital aspect of this role involves collaboration within the team to assist staff with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IBM WebSphere technologies while documenting enterprise-level SOA standards, best practices, and patterns. The candidate must be proficient in patching Oracle WebLogic for PeopleSoft environments and ensuring comprehensive support and problem resolution across all SOA environments.
Given the technical depth and breadth required, the candidate must demonstrate significant experience in design, installation, problem determination, and resolution related to SOA and IBM WebSphere products, IBM Power hardware and AIX operating systems, and the relevant monitoring and performance tools. The company's attention to detail and commitment to authenticity underscore a professional, well-structured working environment with a clear pathway to long-term career stability and growth.
