Job Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. required
Ability to recognize biologically hazardous wastes and dispose of them properly
Knowledge of safe handling and removal of bio-hazardous materials
Experience working with buffing or waxing machines, floor driers, shredders, snow blowers, and vacuum cleaners
Availability to work per diem shifts between 6:30am - 7pm Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays
Willingness to work at multiple clinic sites in the Bronx as needed
Ability to perform minor maintenance and repair tasks

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D.
Ability to recognize and properly dispose of biologically hazardous waste
Knowledge of safe handling and removal of bio-hazardous materials, Material Safety Data Sheets, and Infection Control Policy
Experience operating buffing or waxing machines, floor driers, shredders, snow blowers, and vacuum cleaners
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Good communication skills

Job Duties

Maintain floor surfaces to ensure cleanliness and resistance to water or bio-hazardous infiltration
Operate and maintain housekeeping equipment such as buffing or waxing machines, floor driers, shredders, snow blowers, and vacuum cleaners
Clean, vacuum, and dust all surfaces including high and low areas and intake/exhaust ducts
Ensure all bathroom fixtures are unclogged and functioning properly
Remove garbage and trash from clinic areas
Monitor inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and report needs to the Site Director or designee
Maintain clinic exterior areas free from trash and hazardous conditions
Clean spills involving medicine, blood, urine, mercury, etc.
Assist with receipt and delivery of supplies and materials
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and hanging bulletin boards
