We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join our team of passionate hospitality professionals. This full-time role offers competitive pay ranging from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour with an expected 32 to 40 hours per week. As the Restaurant Supervisor, you will be the cornerstone of the dining experience, leading the restaurant team by example to ensure top-notch customer service and a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the timely and courteous service of food and beverages, managing guest interactions including greeting and escorting guests to their tables, and maintaining smooth and efficient operations on the dining floor. The role also extends to supervising staff during the absence of the Restaurant/Outlets Manager and executing training programs to uphold operational standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of food and beverage operations and preparation techniques, a good understanding of beverage service and wine varieties, and proven supervisory experience in a hospitality atmosphere. This position requires standing and moving throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas during shifts and the capability to interact effectively with guests and employees in English. Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- 2 years previous food & beverage and supervisory experience
- Ability to work entire shift standing and moving about in restaurants and kitchen areas
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, employing patience, tact and diplomacy
- Position requires 2 years food service supervisory experience
- Ability to commute to Coralville, IA 52241
- Ability to relocate to Coralville, IA 52241
- Knowledge of beverage operations and wine varieties preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and POS systems preferred
- Additional language ability preferred
Job Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of food & beverage operations and preparation techniques
- Knowledge of beverage operations and understanding wine varieties, labels and vintages
- Mathematical abilities to determine and track inventory, controls, revenue production, and other financial statements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Experience with POS systems and Microsoft Office suite preferred
Job Duties
- Perform all dining room positions including server, server assistant, host and bartender
- Open and close restaurant and bar
- Supervise staff in absence of Restaurant / Outlets Manager
- Assist with on-going training to ensure standards are being met
- Oversee operation of Room Service and assist other Food and Beverage areas as needed
- Interact positively with customers promoting hotel facilities and services
- Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties
- Move throughout facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met
- Verify temperature, judge appearance and taste of products and check preparation methods to determine quality
- Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency
- Maintain profitability of outlet to support hotel operations
- Control payroll and equipment costs
- Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering, and retrieving supplies
- Utilize POS system to accurately charge customers, and ensure timeliness of food and beverage
- Implement and maintain housekeeping, sanitation and cleanliness standards in all areas of the hotel
- Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics and self-image with yourself as well as subordinates
- Administer sales promotion programs and employee sales incentive programs
- Know the competition and keep current with industry trends
- Direct and coordinate the activities of all assigned associates and departmental responsibilities in the restaurant
- Support hotel policies and procedures
- Maintain house bank
- Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, and appearance are maintained
- Be knowledgeable and participate in the hotel's Fire, Safety, Security, and Environmental plan and/or committees
- Attend all required F&B Department and other meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
