The Field Service Technician role at Nalco Water, based in the Placentia area, offers an exciting opportunity to be a key player in delivering high-quality water treatment services directly to customers within a 100-200 mile local route radius. This full-time position features competitive hourly pay ranging from $31 to $33, with opportunities for overtime. In this role, the Field Service Technician is responsible for preventive maintenance, installation, repair, and startup of media-based and membrane water treatment systems. Technicians will troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems, maintain equipment integrity, and handle routine mechanical fixes. Responsibilities include route planning according to daily schedules, maintaining communication professionally with customers, sales representatives, and corporate staff, and ensuring efficient and safe delivery of equipment. The position requires adherence to standards such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space protocols, and DOT regulations for vehicle logging. This role demands independence, technical aptitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years repair, troubleshooting, or field service experience (pure water equipment experience preferred)
- 5 years of an acceptable motor vehicle record
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to work independently without regular supervision
- Excellent professional communication written and verbal

Job Duties
- Ensures safe execution of all service and operations
- Follow all safety practices and policies in driving, field work, and customer locations, use Risk Assessments, LOTO, Confined Space tools to ensure safe practice
- Perform preventive maintenance, installation, repair, rebed, or startup of media-based water treatment systems
- Perform preventive maintenance, installation, repair, and startup of reverse osmosis or other membrane systems
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems
- Establish daily route based upon schedule and call center assignments
- Prepare and load trucks for next day
- Be the customer facing ambassador for Nalco Water and professionally communicate with customers, sales representatives and corporate staff by phone, e-mail, and in person
- Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of all equipment
- Connect equipment, perform QC and record keeping tasks
- Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Fix minor mechanical issues
- Maintain up-to-date DOT logging
